A 38-suite jewel bordering Tivoli Gardens, Nimb has been family owned for generations and still holds on to that feeling of home in its current incarnation as a hotel. Most suites have fireplaces or balconies overlooking Tivoli Gardens. All rooms have Apple TVs, Bang & Olufsen televisions and sound systems, and Nespresso machines. Dining includes Nimb Brasserie, a French brasserie; Nimb Bar’n’Grill, with elegant Asian cuisine; Gemyse, with organic, green cuisine recommended by the Michelin Guide; Fru Nimb, serving Danish sandwiches; and Cakenhagen, with its sumptuous cakes. The Nimb Bar has a fireplace and afternoon tea.

When I first learned that Nimb Hotel was across the street from the main train station, I went Ewww… and then discovered that it faced Tivoli Gardens the Main Amusement Park in Copenhagen, I just rolled my eyes and went “Really!?!” And that it may be one of the most expensive hotels in Denmark, was kind of like, how?

Once inside, I realized just how wrong my first impressions were. The owners, Tivoli Gardens wanted to create a 5-Star Hotel experience connecting to their Amusement Park, and they did an excellent job. Nimb Hotel is a special hotel on many levels. The facades on the outside only hide an elegant modern boutique hotel. This is Copenhagen, so you know the food standards are high, and the 5 restaurants will satisfy anyone. The rooms have a fireplace and the scent of wood smoke adds that sense of cozy. And the Executive Suite, fabulous. I love this hotel.

Downstairs there is a special place for this who love wine or champagne. Trust me on this… this is a great Wine Tasting Room. And the separate Champagne Cellar is small but spectacular.

They are currently building a new modern extension, and will have a Rooftop Pool & Full Gym in a year or two. But even now, without those features, this is a special hotel, and I can not wait to return.
