The World’s 50 Best Restaurant #19 – Geranium Copenhagen
Going to Geranium was one of my most looked forward to dining experiences. After one person referred to it as “Life Changing”, how could one not be excited for the opportunity have dinner at one of Europe’s best restaurants. And having now dined here, I can say it is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had… up there with Maido in Lima, and Eleven Madison Park in New York.
The space is stylish and good for business but not stuffy. The staff pleasant and even playful, and the wine pairing, superb. Without going on a dish by dish rundown, there were two dishes so good, they made me cry… the “Dillstone” Mackerel and the Salted Hake. Both signature dishes from what I understand, and for a very good reason…. delicious and unlike anything I have ever tasted before. This is food preparation at it’s best.
Between the main courses and the desert, a tour of the Wine Cellar and Kitchen. The kitchen, of course, is spotless… and the Wine Cellar impressive to say the least.
This was a dining experience I would have to call near flawless, and dishes served… wonderfully unique. Worthy a trip to Copenhagen.
