The island has 216 kilometres of highly varied coastline, from the rugged shores and reddish beaches of the north, to the gentle relief of the south, with golden sandy coves. There are many different options to enjoy sun and sea, whether on broad sandy beaches or at small coves surrounded by pine groves. They all have one thing in common, however: clean, crystal clear waters.
Menorca’s fabulous Hauser & Wirth arts center is an essential stop for modern-art lovers. And no one should leave the island without having the traditional and delicious caldereta de langosta (lobster stew) at Es Cranc Pelut in Fornells.
The main (and only) airport serving the Menorca is MAH Menorca Airport.
Flying Private: There are several FBO options available.

Regular ferries from both mainland Spain and Majorca are also available to Ciutadella and Maó from Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, and Barcelona. Private boat transfers are also available.
As with Spain’s other Balearic Islands, Menorca is generally considered a summertime destination. Many of the hotels and restaurants are closed between November and February.

Two sister hotel projects on the same property. Each with their own unique style.
Even by the standards of this idyllic Balearic island, Fontenille Menorca is something special: a 250-acre estate whose gently rolling hills are dotted with palm trees, orange groves, figs, flowers, and gardens of every description.
The first one, SANTA PONSA, iconic finca of 100 ha on the Island of Menorca, is an old 17th century palace whose luxuriant gardens and terraces, supplied in water through a 17th century watering system, are listed monuments.
The second one, TORRE VELLA, gets its name from the former watchtower situated in the centre of the house : it’s the ultimate finca. Implemented on a site inhabited for over 9000 years, it extends its secrets to the cliffs which border 1700 meters of the coastline of the 200 ha property.

Cala en Porter
Size: 22 rooms and suites
Style: Contemporary Classic & Quiet
Year Opened: 2013
Seasonal Operations: Property is closed during the winter season
It’s built from the bones of an old farm, lovingly restored where it needs to be restored — things like stylish modern bedrooms and bathrooms and that gorgeous saltwater infinity pool are, needless to say, contemporary additions — and meticulously preserved where the old ways will do: the rough walls of stacked stone and the age-old gardens surrounding the terraces strike an unmistakably rustic note.
The rooms, as in any decent estate-turned-hotel, are scattered throughout the property, each one inheriting a personality all its own. Some face the sea, others simply the gardens, but all do it from either private terraces or balconies — here, a stay spent shut indoors is a stay wasted. But be sure you get down to the old storeroom as often as you can — it’s now Torralbenc’s restaurant, where the toolkit of modern Spanish cooking is brought to bear on the produce and traditions of Menorcan cuisine, to unfailingly satisfying effect.

Mahón
Size: 21 rooms and suites
Style: Contemporary Classic & Quiet
Year Opened: 2021
Designer/Architect: Lorenzo Castillo
Designer Lorenzo Castillo has filled Cristine Bedfor’s spaces with thoughtfully selected antiques and objets, in pursuit of the kind of character possessed by the best small hotels. The house’s 21 bedrooms range from singles and doubles to more expansive (and self-explanatory) terrace rooms and finally Cristine’s Choice, the largest and most lavish of the accommodations.
The hotel’s restaurant is a partnership with the well-regarded local restaurant Ses Forquilles, and makes expert use of the island’s local produce and the abundant Mediterranean seafood. As for the city itself, Mahón is an order of magnitude smaller than Palma, its Mallorcan counterpart; you can easily see the port and the entirety of the old town in a single day.

Designer/Architect: Olivia Putman / Studio Putman
Seasonal Operations: Property is closed during the winter season
Faustino Gran Relais & Chateaux is located inside a palace that dates back to the 16th century, making it one of the newer buildings in town. The look is sufficiently stately from the outside, soaring three stories high with antique shuttered windows and an old-fashioned shingled roof. But inside, the hotel is relatively sleek and pared-down. The interiors were done, in part, by Olivia Putman of the French design firm Studio Putman, the same firm famous for their mid-eighties work on Morgans Hotel in New York.
A Mediterranean menu, and a good wine list, are on offer at the hotel’s restaurant. Faustino Gran Relais & Chateaux also features two bars, one off the lobby, and the other, beneath the trees on the hotel’s lovely patio. All guests enjoy access to a pair of swimming pools and a hammam that’s located inside the vault of an ancient grotto.
