So that it doesn’t get buried in the middle of this page… for LX40, I pre-booked the A La Carte “Healthy Dinner”, and it was a fantastic choice for an Economy flight. Well worth the effort and money, gave a long economy flight a great start.
Time to head home, and I was looking forward to seeing ZRH Zurich again. After a bit of lounge hopping at CPH Copenhagen, boarded LX1267 and departed right on time. This flight was packed but pleasant. But typical of the European short haul… just a bit tight in the seating. Not awful, but after an hour and a half, you are ready to get off.
With a bit under 2 hours in Zurich for the layover, I did hope to go to the lounge quickly before heading to the gate… but Zurich was busy that day, and the line to exit Shengen to International departures was strangely long… so no lounge or snacks in the main Terminal… better to head over and take that train to the E Gates Terminal. Once at E Gates, surprise, additional screening for all US flights, and once through, to go back to any Lounges or Shops you had to exit the new America Zone.
Boarding started a bit late, but once on the flight was handled with Swiss efficiency, and the cabin crew was quite nice… they even appeared to enjoy their jobs, and the customers in Coach. And even with the Swiss 3-4-3, 32″ pitch seating, it wasn’t all that bad for the 11 hours. And to make things better, the A La Carte dinner hit the spot. Our flight arrived a bit late, but in the end, a good Economy Long Haul. I can fly Swiss again and will.
