Perhaps more than any other city in Europe, Prague has kept its pre-modern charm. Spared the destruction of the Second World War, the ancient structures of the city still exist in their original state. Prague is a walking city as it was designed over many centuries for the pedestrian and the horse. The inner city lacks major avenues as found in Paris or Rome, giving the city its unique character.
The main airport serving Prague is PRG Václav Havel Airport Prague. There are a few international carriers of quality, and a slew of low-cost carriers serving the airport.
Flying Private: There are several FBO options available.

historic Malá Strana district
Size: 99 rooms and suites
Style: Contemporary
Year Opened: 2006
Ideally located amidst the palaces and gardens of Prague’s historic Malá Strana district, Mandarin Oriental, Prague is only a few steps from the city’s most desirable sights such as the iconic Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. Built on the site of a former 14th Century Dominican monastery, the hotel’s long history, interesting architecture and high gated walls ‘cocoon’ guests from the noise and heavy foot-traffic off the cobbled streets outside. Lush gardens and peace and quiet characterize this ‘urban hideaway’ but the vibrancy of the city is just a few steps away.

Check out the ceiling stalactites in the original St Thomas Brewery, located on -1 level. Enjoy the authentic Czech pub atmosphere with a pint of the original St. Thomas Beer.
Opened in 2009, the Augustine is one of Europe’s truly remarkable hotels. Its five buildings date from the 13th and 15th centuries, with the cloistered terraces and vaults of St Thomas’s Monastery carefully incorporated to reflect the hotel’s special location. The glass-covered courtyard restaurant is a culinary and sensory delight, whilst the atmospheric Brewery Bar is perfect for a romantic evening in unforgettable surroundings. The bustling old town is a short walk across the famous Charles Bridge, whilst the Wallenstein Gardens host classical open-air concerts between April and October.

Malá Strana
Size: 51 rooms and suites
The Aria Hotel may have been, as it claims, Prague’s first five-star luxury boutique hotel; it is certainly the most unique hotel in town. The location is excellent, on a quiet side street in the picturesque Malá Strana, and the hotel itself is charming, decorated by architect Rocco Magnoli, of Versace fame. But the real story here is, oddly enough, the music.
Each of the hotel’s four floors is dedicated to a different style of music: Jazz, Opera, Classical, and Contemporary. And within these categories, each (soundproofed) room is dedicated to the work of a particular composer or performer, each with a CD library of the artist’s work, along with books, prints, and a computer with a complete discography of audio files for your listening pleasure — from locals and semi-locals like Dvořák, Janáček, and Martinů to international and popular figures like Sinatra, Billie Holiday, and Bob Marley — oddly, no Velvet Underground.

Two friends run this stylishly understated restaurant done out in a chic, minimalist vein. The Czech dishes present a fusion of classic and modern elements, and some are finished tableside by the dedicated team. They serve a tasting menu (a vegetarian version of which is available) comprising either six or 10 courses. There is also a shorter set menu at lunchtime (one variation on weekdays, another at the weekend). Seasonality is key here, with preserves playing an important role all year round. As well as wine pairings, they have an interesting selection of alcohol-free drinks.

ESSENTIAL PRAGUE
Duration: 5 Days
Interests: Heritage, Food, Art & Architecture
A cultural and historical tour of Prague.
If you are a fan of castles and architecture, our recommendation would be the village of Karlštejn and its beautiful castle. Karlštejn is an exceptional castle not only for its historical significance but also due to its robust structure and architecture. Must see is also Chapel of the Holy Cross – the spiritual heart of the castle and once of the Holy Roman Empire.
This itinerary is an example. All trips are 100% bespoke.
