Great Fosters is my favorite stop over hotel ever. If I only have one or two nights in London, this is the place we go. 15 minute drive from Heathrow, and it is a quiet and restful proper English Hotel. All the rooms in the main house are quite cozy and a bit Hobbit like, but it only adds to the charm.
Food and drinks are overall superb, so very easy to just check in and hold court. But be aware, that their Michelin star restaurant The Tudor Room has strangely restrictive hours, but worth going if open. My experiences with The Estate Grill in the main room has been hit and miss, but still worth a try.

The Celestial
Great Foster is haunted! Though I’ve never seen any ghosts I’m always chanting to encounter one! There is a somewhat hidden garden on the premises that vaguely reminds one of the Shining.
