I, for one, am extremely happy about Finnair resuming service to LAX. Starting March 31, 2019, Finnair begins flying 3 times weekly LAX to Helsinki HEL which is touted as being one of the most livable airports in the world… not to mention efficient. Finnair is going to give Los Angeles another great European option, and one of a great quality. I will be taking this flight in April, so more after that. Hopefully they will send the Marimekko Livery for this special return of Finnair.
Flying the new Airbus A350-900 XWB, Finnair has made excellent use of this craft breaking in new markets, mainly China. And if you like clean, crisp, white interiors… you will like flying Finnair. And bucking the trend, they fly with 2 basic classes of travel, Business and Economy. Business Class is a Reverse Herringbone, so every seat will be comfortable and private, with all window seating having aisle access as well. Economy in the A350 has a rather generous seat width (pitch) by current standards and there is Economy Comfort with extra leg room. A very good plane and configuration for long-haul.
In 2021, Finnair will introduce a new Premium Economy cabin class for its long-haul fleet.
