Island Idylls – Dive Into Adventure in the Lucayan Archipelago
Say I scuba-“do” to a dive along one of the world’s longest barrier reefs and a mile-high underwater wall off the coast of the Turks and Caicos, a chain of 40 islands and cays in the aquamarine Caribbean. For a tamer experience, explore snorkel trails along Smith’s Reef and Bight Reef. Witness a nighttime mating ritual courtesy of greenish glowworms that breed in the Caicos Cays every month, transforming the water into a luminescent Milky Way.
What the Turks & Caicos Islands lack in native culture, it makes up for in spades with it’s endless white sandy beaches, warm ocean waters and sunshine. You come here for a laidback sunny vacation. T&C is not a bargain destination, fairly much everything needs to be shipped in adding a premium to all food, beverages and fuel.
Unless you are flying Private, your most likely going to fly into PLS Providenciales International Airport. A cute open aired airport capable of handling the several flights that come in from the US, Canada, Europe and a few of the other local islands.
Remember, that Turks & Caicos Islands is a British Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom, you will need a Valid Passport to enter, but no advance Visas are required for US Citizens. UDS Dollar is the preferred currency here.
Private Island, Parrot Cay
My favorite hotel/resort in Turks + Caicos. Endless charm of a COMO hotel with a quiet and isolated location. The food has a Southeast influence due to the Singaporean ownership and the hospitality is effortless and spot on perfect. The spa is fabulous.

I always wondered why the pricing of Amanyara was noticeably higher than other Aman locations, once there I realized, this is a larger and more grand of an Aman. Very secluded and off on the west side of Providenciales, they created quite an extensive resort, yet still having the original casual elegance that is a hallmark of all Aman resorts.

Just recently rebranding away from the Gansevoort, this is now called the Wymara Resort and Villas. My favorite of the Hotel/Resorts along Grace Bay. Nicely modern vibe and great beachside hospitality. And the new villas, are spectacular.

Adults only, right next door to the Gansevoort. When they finish their room remodel, this will be an ideal getaway for any couple. Great dining and location, and you must get an upgraded room…. the older rooms are very dated.

A great though less up-to-date resort. And it has many room styles, so choosing the right room and resort location is key. A good location, especially if you are travelling with a family or a larger group.
Big Ambergris Cay, small island south of Providenciales
Just opened in December 2018… this private island resort can only be reached by their private plane. The few guest rooms they have ready are exceptionally nice, and in a few years this will be a tremendous hideaway. Still a bit of a work in the process, but will make a brilliant stay, even now. Additional Villas and private homes will be available over the next few years.
