Italian Splendor
From the cobblestoned streets of Florence to the panoramic views of Tuscany; the unrivaled Amalfi Coast to the dramatic Dolomites; the Venetian canals to the stunning beauty of Lake Como and Lake Garda – Italy is pure magic.
Italy is a popular desitination, plan early. It is easy to see Italy on a budget, but leave a few places to splurge on “The Good Life” while there.
Part of the EU & Schengen Agreement.
US Department of State Italy Information
Starting in 2021, the European Commission will roll out a U.S. style electronic travel authorisation system for visitors from countries that are currently not part of the EU or Schengen Member. The cost of an ETIAS is €7, however, individuals under the age of 18, or over the age of 70, will not need to pay the fee. The ETIAS must be applied for online prior to arrival to the EU. Each eligible traveller, regardless of age, will require an ETIAS to visit EU member countries. The ETIAS will be mandatory for citizens of such countries as the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Torno, Lake Como
There’s plenty of neoclassical opulence on the shores of Lake Como, and historic villas, too — though, these days, the centuries-old architecture is outnumbered by extravagant imitations. Thankfully the team behind Il Sereno, including celebrated Milan-based designer Patricia Urquiola, is taking things in a bold new direction. Though it’s built on the foundation of an old stone boathouse, Il Sereno is a modern marvel both inside and out. A boxy glass-encased structure built of stone, wood, bronze, and copper, the hotel rises up several stories from the water’s edge.
