Whizz Off to Oz
   Fabulous Reefs,
      and Fabled Wine Country

Rock on down under with an Aboriginal walk around Uluru (a.k.a. Ayers Rock). On the coast, scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef, surf the breaks at Bells Beach, or drive the Great Ocean Road past lonely beaches and dramatic cliffs. Meet kangaroos, koalas, and wallabies at Kangaroo Island, watch the whales at Hervey Bay, and tour the Barossa Valley vineyards. Daredevils can see Sydney Harbour from on high with a climb atop the city’s famous bridge.

I am currently working on a few Itineraries, so will be adding a few things here over the next few months. Australia is a huge region so there will be quite a few subpages added as well. Australia still remains one of my favorite places for a journey, look forward to returning soon.

COMO The Treasury

COMO The Treasury
Perth, Australia
I am a big fan of the COMO Hotel Group, and this Perth location makes a very interesting addition.

COMO The Treasury is an elegant urban hotel located within Cathedral Square, in the heart of Perth, Australia. Standing alongside the iconic St George’s Cathedral, the hotel is housed in the 19th-century State Buildings — buildings that have played an important role in Perth’s history, serving as a post office, land titles office and treasury. Meticulous restoration has revealed a grand Victorian-era façade, while inside an elegant and contemporary style permeates the 48 rooms and suites. Accommodation is large, with rooms ranging from 55sq m to 120sq m. Each room functions as a serene retreat from the cosmopolitan buzz, and is decorated in beige and white, with limed oak furniture, pale travertine, and bronze and leather trims. Dining options include the rooftop Wildflower restaurant overlooking the city and Swan River, serving a farm-and-forager-driven menu revolving around the indigenous six seasons, and Post, an all-day osteria serving Italian classics using the finest local produce. There’s also the Treasury Lounge and Bar, which provides an elegant spot for daytime meetings, afternoon tea and evening drinks. Wellbeing is at the core of COMO Shambhala Urban Escape. Here, guests can enjoy a comprehensive range of holistic therapies as well as a pool and gym. Within the State Buildings you can also find a florist, jeweller, a chocolatier and other locally made, bespoke offerings.

Of note: I am a Preferred Partner with this hotel. Enjoy complimentary VIP amenities when booking with me (e.g. room upgrade, early check-in, late check-out, daily breakfast, complimentary WiFi, and one lunch or dinner for up to two people per room).
