Condor Flugdienst is the low(ish) cost competitor of Lufthansa, with it’s main hub based at FRA Frankfurt. Condor’s main goal is economical travel for vacation goers while maintaining a very high level of standards, so it cannot be referred to as a low-cost carrier (LCC). It’s current relationship with Lufthansa, and other airlines, gives it excellent options for travel beyond Frankfurt.
In 2023, Condor made headlines with it’s color crazy striped livery. There are some things to love and hate about it, a bold move to get attention.
Condor does offer a pleasant lie-flat Business Class product. And with a relatively new Long-Haul fleet of A330neos, they offer a very complling flight option.
Not including the code share partners, Condor has an extensive summer network servicing the US Market. Do note, they generally do not offer a daily service to all cities.
North American Cities served for the Summer of 2024:
New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), Miami (MIA) Seattle (SEA), Portland (PDX), San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX), Las Vegas (LAS), and Anchorage (ANC)
including 3 Canadian cities: Vancouver (YVR), Calgary (YYC), Toronto (YYZ).
The cities served during the winter months is a bit sparse.
RUNWAY GIRL NETWORK:
Condor’s new staggered business class sets premium leisure standard
German leisure airline Condor is following up its recent controversial yet brave stripey rebrand with an impressive new business class, featuring staggered fully flat beds offering direct aisle access to each passenger on its forthcoming Airbus A330neo aircraft, which are to be delivered this northern hemisphere autumn.
RUNWAY GIRL NETWORK:
Condor goes big on stripes for A330neo flights
German leisure carrier Condor Airlines received a lot of attention in February when New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) became the first gateway to welcome one of the carrier’s new striped Airbus A330-900neo twinjets from Frankfurt.
RUNWAY GIRL NETWORK:
Condor is striped. And Condor is controversial.
Depending on who you ask, it’s the worst livery of all time or it’s the second coming of the golden jet age icon Braniff’s brightly coloured planes: German leisure airline Condor has certainly put the striped cat among the pigeons with its new livery.
