Claiming a breathtaking stretch of coastline on the Lombok Strait, Amankila resides on a lush hillside beneath sacred Mount Agung. Architect Ed Tuttle was inspired by Ujung Water Palace and the property’s graceful buildings are connected by frangipani-lined walkways through the treetops. Stilted suites rest high on the hillside with spectacular sea views, a three-tier infinity pool cascades at the property’s heart, and down on the shore, the Beach Club leads to a private black-sand beach.

Set on a verdant hillside next to a cliff and overlooking East Bali’s Lombok Strait, Amankila is welcoming in every respect. From your freestanding suite, connected to the resort’s public areas and restaurants by stepped walkways, to the Beach Club, where water sports are available, you’ll feel at home – yet so very far removed from your workaday life. Water lovers adore the two resort outriggers, designed to emulate traditional Balinese fishing craft – cruises are offered daily. Visit two of the island’s most important temples, Lempuyang and Besakih, the former of which is considered one of Bali’s “six temples of the heavens.”

The Celestial
Amankila is a must though far from the ‘nightlife’ of Bali… who wants that when you can have the resort all to yourself! Really White Party? Please…. you be too old for that noise! Again there is a Japanese restaurant here… very odd….and lots of steps…. its a thing for the Aman…. steps steps and more steps…..
