For my first time in Stockholm, Nobis Hotel, proved to be a perfect choice. Central location, and a beautiful classic old hotel with a fantastic update. And not that expensive to stay for 2-days. As with all Design Hotels, a great restaurant and a great bar as part of the property.
The room had a wonderful view of the park across the street, and was nicely put together… compact, efficient and homey. Bathroom, heated floors and a good shower. Thank goodness double paned windows, not for just warmth, but Stockholm likes to party when summer arrives until the sun goes down, which is almost never. And just as the sun sets, it becomes morning again.
The way they handled the update of this classic hotel, is what makes it a great place to stay. A classic modern treatment, that never overpowers it’s old world charm. Never stuffy like a few of those “Old School” establishments… but you still want to dress nice, this hotel has a great deal of class. I can return anytime, and I want to try the “sister hotel” Hotel Skepps Homlmen on the island with Modern Museet, super quiet in the heart of Stockholm.
